Paul G. Pustorino, CPA

Paul PustorinoMr. Pustorino is a Senior Advisor with H.J. Steininger and leader of the firm’s federal audit practice. He is a retired Partner of Grant Thornton LLP where he had a career spanning 38 years of providing professional accounting, auditing and consulting services to a wide variety of public and private sector clients.

While at Grant Thornton, Mr. Pustorino had the primary responsibility to coordinate and develop the Firm’s federal audit practice. He also served as the Partner in Charge of the Grant Thornton team providing professional staff augmentation and restatement support at Fannie Mae, Treasury and other federal agencies. He served in the National Professional Standards Group in several roles including acting as the concurring partner on large complex audit engagements across the country and assisting the Firm’s Risk, Regulatory and Legal Affairs Group with accounting, auditing and risk management matters. Additionally, he sat on firm’s audit client acceptance committee, the group responsible for approval of all audit client engagements. During his career, he has testified as an expert witness in litigation matters, wrote numerous articles for accounting industry trade publications and co-authored case studies which focused on utilizing the Balance Scorecard Methodology for achieving strategic objectives. A frequent speaker, Paul spoke at many seminars on issues affecting accounting and banking issues

Mr. Pustorino also served as the engagement partner responsible for directing Grant Thornton’s services to private and public companies in the Commercial Practice, to certain government-sponsored enterprises, regulators and other federal agencies in the Global Public Sector Practice. During his career, he was also served as the National Managing Partner for Grant Thornton’s Financial Institution Practice. He raised over $1 Billion in IPO’s for his clients during his career.
